In the first American Idol disqualification since Corey Clark in Season 2, the Fox show has decided to dismiss Top 12 contestant Jermaine Jones from the competition, according to TMZ.
TMZ and the Hollywood Reporter are saying that Jones was disqualified after it was discovered that he did not reveal information about his criminal past, including outstanding warrants.
The crimes allegedly occurred in 2011, TMZ reports, and one involved violence.
According to multiple reports, Jones was confronted by producers Tuesday and the footage will be a part of Wednesday night’s American Idol episode. Talk about drama.
American Idol Net caught a Tweet apparently about the situation from Jones before it was later removed. “Awww I will no longer b on the show,” it said.
