Is AGT Contestant a Fraud?

America's Got Talent's Tim Poe may have fabricated injured vet story

Is AGT Contestant a Fraud?

Country music singer Tim Poe had America’s Got Talent judges and viewers in tears this week with his heartfelt version of “If Tomorrow Never Comes” and his back story.

Tim told the audience that he is an Afghanistan war veteran who suffered a broken back and brain damage by a rocket-propelled grenade. But there are now reports surfacing that Poe may have made the story up.

“Sgt. Poe’s official military records do not indicate that he was injured by a grenade in combat while serving in Afghanistan in 2009, as he reports,” reported the Minnesota National Guard as saying.

The Associated Press has also done some reporting on the story, speaking with a Minnesota National Guard spokesman. “We did not find something to substantiate what he said,”  Lt. Col. Kevin Olson said. He also said Poe did not receive the Purple Heart, which is bestowed upon injured to soldiers injured in combat.

NBC has not commented on the story.

What do you think of these allegations? Would someone actually lie about something that could be so easily proven false? On national television even.

If this is true then I am so pissed I wasted tissues on Monday night! Don’t pull on my heart strings because I become Bitchy!

I will give him the benefit of the doubt until the investigation is final. It is hard for me to believe that anyone would make up that kind of story with such conviction.

I think the writer of this article should use spell check! I find it difficult to believe articles/stories that have so many gramatical errors! LEGIT writers have editors to catch these obvious mistakes! We will see I suppose, but I will believe the man until otherwise proven :-)

It’s very possible this guy made this story up to kinda sorta guarantee him 3 yesses. (Who would turn away a war hero?) He was an okay singer, and probably would have made it through, although I doubt that he would have won. If the story is indeed false, he should be immediately disqualified.

I’m hoping that Tim Poe’s not lying. I thought he had a wonderful performance on Monday night. Maybe he made it up as a feel sorry for me I’m an injured soldier who served his country. I know I wouldn’t turn away a soldier and everything they’ve done for us. Maybe that’s the card he’s trying to play on, and now it’s all backfiring on him. It’s great being able to watch Americas Got Talent commercial free. I love watching my recorded shows on primetime commercial free using my Auto Hop feature. I always hate having to fast forward my commercials when I watch my recordings. Since I don’t watch my primetime recordings for a day or so after they record I can skip them with the touch of a button. My coworker at Dish showed me how you have to confirm the option when you watch each recording. This will save some wear and tear on the remote, and I won’t have to replace batteries so soon either.

Discrace to the Uniform that I have been wearing for the past 20 years and I am still wearing. This scumbag needs to be kicked off the show and should be tried for his lies.

I stutter and sometimes I stutter but not all the time and some people don’t stutter every second.
