Want To Make Chef Joe’s Cod and Salsa?

The house guests have eaten pretty well this season on Big Brother 14 thanks to Joe. And as we’ve seen on the Live Feeds, even the have-nots have eaten better than most seasons. Gone are the days of plain old slop. Chef Joe has been concocting up recipe after recipe to improve the taste of slop. Now, if he’d just learn to wash his hands after going to the bathroom, the HGs would be set.

If you’d like to live like a have not for a day, you can. We have Joe’s easy Have-Not Cod with the “official” Big Brother One-Step Blender Salsa. And yes, the ingredients are all Have-Not approved.

“Big Brother” OneStep Blender Salsa

What you’ll need:

  • Cherry tomatoes
  • 1 Garden variety tomato
  • 1 Red onion
  • 1 Whole lime
  • Hot Sauce to taste
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • Avocado

From here you pulse the blender. “You do NOT want it to be watery” warns Chef Joe. You will add your avocado (Britney’s favorite HN approved item!) to the salsa at the end of the blending process.

For the Cod:

Bake it at 425 for 15 minutes — since the houseguests have been provided with a thicker style of Cod, Joe likes to cook it longer so it’s crisp. Smoked Paprika, Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper make up the seasonings used to prepare the fish.

Joe has also been doing his own little cooking show on the Live Feeds.

Thank you, Austin for sending us Joe’s recipe!

They are being pretty lenient on the hn’s this year. Tomatoes, garlic, olive ooo, touch of vinegar & basil. You’ve got a ppular and edible tomato salad.

The avocado you say is Brittney’s Favorite approved have not item, is not an item on the approved list. (Unless the list has changed!) Joe put avocado in the dip, but was told by BB to remove it. Even though salsa is on the list, you may not use ingredients that are “in” the salsa. This is how Joe got away with having the fruit salsa earlier in the season. Check out my blog “Slop Du Jour” blog (I’ve been blogging about the have nots since last season) and see the BB list of have not condiments, and all kinds of recipes from the HG’s getting creative with cooking in the house! slopdujour.wordpress.com
