Biggest Loser loses big in the ratings

It looks like Jillian Michaels isn’t the only thing missing from Season 12 of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” So are some of the viewers.

Last week, the weight-loss show hit an all-time low in the ratings, according to reports. After the show’s third week, ratings came in at a 2.0, with only 5.6 million viewers (compared to the 2.7/7.44 average last season).

The season premiered lower than last year also, at a 2.3 in the 18-49 demographic with 6.17 million viewers, meaning it’s slowly declining week by week.

So what’s the cause of the decline? Some are saying Anna Kournikova just isn’t enough to fill the void left by bad-girl trainer Jillian Michaels.

There’s no word on if the lower ratings has put the long-running show in danger, but surely it’ll be fine. NBC just needs to get Jillian back. Right, fans?

    Making the teams by age was a big mistake. The older people don’t have a chance in competitions so basically they will all be sent home. Anna didn’t have a chance. I miss Jillian. She made that show. I do watch it but it doesn’t hold my interest as much as it has in past years.

    I agree with Lynn. I really don’t like the split by age groups. I thought it might work, but has fallen flat for the older group!! I didn’ t think from the start Anna would be a good fit for the show…and now I still don’t think she does!!! The other guy (sorry name slips me..)..seems to be blending in better…I would LOVE Jillian to come back…BUT…I have a feeling she is gone for good…but…you never know..loved it when she came back before!!

    My wife makes me watch that show with her. I hate to say it, but you have to have the intellect of a flea to find this enjoyable
