No word on if Season 2 will be cancelled yet, but we're expecting it.

‘Buckwild’ Production Shut Down After Shain Gandee’s Death

The reality TV world is still reeling after the unexpected death of Shain Gandee, and many Buckwild fans are wondering if Season 2 will be cancelled.

Gandee, 21, star of the MTV show, Buckwild, was found dead on Monday in Sissonville, West Virginia. The bodies of Gandee and two passengers (one being his uncle) were found in his Ford Bronco, deep in the woods, stuck in a mud pit that came up to the truck’s windows. At this point it is believed that Shain and the others died of carbon monoxide poisoning due to his tailpipe being submerged in the mud.

Since Gandee’s death, production of MTV’s Buckwild Season 2 has indeed come to an abrupt halt. MTV has said the future of the show is uncertain, but they haven’t confirmed that it will be cancelled. Not yet, anyway. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.

MTV released the following statement regarding Shain’s death:

“We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”

Buckwild cast members have expressed their grief for Shain, and have shared photos and fun times they had with him, on their Twitter accounts. Our thoughts go out to all of Shain’s family and friends.

Do you think they should cancel Buckwild Season 2?

No. Maybe it’s a selfish side of me because I enjoy the show, but if everyone in production including the cast have no problem going on with the show, why not? Whether it’s cancelled or not won’t change what has already happened.

I only watched one, maybe two episodes of the show. I would say because of what the show is about…partying, drinking, etc a second season wouldn’t seem right for MTV to pursue. RIP.

RIP to these three. God be with all families, friends & fans.
