Judge Denies Restraining Order Against Glass House

ABC's new reality show will premiere Monday night after all

A federal judge has denied CBS's request for a restraining order against production of ABC's The Glass House. That means the show will premiere Monday night as originally planned.

The judge said even though there are similarities between the two shows, he called the idea “generic” and didn't think they could be copyrighted.

“I don’t know that Glass House will have any impact on Big Brother,” Federal judge Gary Allen Feess said. “Big Brother will go forward.”

Feess also said he didn't see how trade secrets could have been stolen when CBS has allowed people to take tours of the Big Brother control room and set. He basically added that they're not doing anything that original, as far as reality television is concerned.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the judge did say CBS is free to continue the fight, but for now he doesn't see an issue with ABC airing the show.

Something tells me the judge isn't much of a reality television fan. What do you think? Will you be watching The Glass House Monday night?

I don’t know, Monday night is the same time the early bird special starts for the Big Brother live feeds, so i might be busy .
But ya, I’ll probably watch it just to see exactly what it’s all about.

For me, I’m stickin with Big brother on CBS! The Glass House is trying to do what The Voice did to American Idol, and at the end of the day, Idol is still ahead of The Voice in the ratings dispite Idol no longer being the ratings Death Star it once was! And The Glass House is no diffrenet ethier. So BIG BROTHER and CBS 4-LIFE!

And World Wide, Big Brother has more International editions than Glass House will ever have, and are still going strong!

Instead of frivolous lawsuits, CBS should spend their money on fixing superpass chat and feeds. At least ABC can do those things properly…

I’ll watch both but I am a Big Brother Fan hard core. To bad The Glass House couldn’t be on in January, when there are just boring reruns to watch.

The glass house is a infantile Big Brother golem , soiling itself in a kiddie-pool of banility and tedium!! Thankfully …on July 12th…the phoenix of BB14 shall arise..it’s searing light banishing this abomination to Geraldos vault of eternal embarassment…..next to the likes of ABC’s “cavemen”,and the remake of ” charlies angels” !!!
