After a very strange delay, Lifetime has finally set the premiere date for Project Runway All-Stars. The spinoff to the popular design show is set to air Thursday, January 5 at 9 pm.
It’s anybody’s guess whether or not the show is going to work since the only familiar faces will be (some of) the returning designers. Host Heidi Klum won’t be there. Neither will mentor Tim Gunn. Or judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.
The All-Stars host is model Angela Lindvall. Marie Claire editor Joanna Coles will mentor while the judges seats will be filled by designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman.
It’s going to be weird not having the usual suspects in those chairs. Also weird is the lack of former fan favorites or runners-up in the cast. Sure there are a few (Mondo and Austin for example) but not many.
Here’s the list. See for yourself:
Kenley Collins – Season Five, Second Runner-up
Michael Costello – Season Eight, Fourth Place
Gordana Gehlhausen – Season Six, Fourth Place
Mondo Guerra – Season Eight, Runner-up
Mila Hermanovski – Season Seven, Second Runner-up
Kara Janx – Season Two, Fourth Place
Elisa Jimenez – Season Four, 10th Place
April Johnston – Season Eight, Fifth Place
Rami Kashou – Season Four, Runner-up
Austin Scarlett – Season One, Fourth Place
Jerell Scott – Season Five, Fourth Place
Sweet P – Season Four, Fifth Place
Anthony Williams – Season Seven, Fifth Place
