How Many Real Housewives Are Too Many?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard a good rumor about the next destination city for Bravo’s Real Housewives.

San Francisco never materialized. Ditto Dallas. At the time, Andy Cohen got so fed up with all the speculation that he emphatically declared that the Real Housewives franchise wasn’t looking to expand anywhere else.

But now the rumor mill is cranking up again, mostly due to this curious casting call that appeared in Nashville Scene, the city’s alternative weekly.

It reads:

From the Producers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and The Real Housewives of Orange County comes a NEW Nashville based docu-series for a major cable network! If you or someone you know is a successful, powerful WOMAN, single or married, with an outstanding personality, who frequents the Nashville social scene – we would love to hear from them! Entrepreneurs, Power Couples, CEO’s, Wives of Music Execs and Sports Players etc etc – Please encourage anyone you know who considers themselves part of Nashville’s Elite, to apply now.

The real question is, does Bravo have room for any more housewives at this point without killing off a city or two? The network already is in Housewives overload, running the shows year-round and airing as many as three different cities at once. And let’s not forget that they’ve expanded to other countries – we happened to catch an episode of The Real Housewives of Vancouver during a recent visit to Canada.

Do you have Housewives fatigue, or are you ready for the Real Housewives to go country?
