‘Millionaire Matchmaker’s’ comments under fire
Patti Stanger, Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker,” has been called out for making offensive comments against gay and Jewish men. And she made these comments on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” with host Andy Cohen, who is gay and Jewish. Oh, and happens to be Bravo’s VP of programming. Smart move, Patti.
During her segment, Stanger told a caller “In the gay world there’s always going to be open [relationships].” There is no curbing the gay … I tried to curb you people and you just don’t —I decided to throw in the towel and do what you want, but when you find the right person you will know.”
Later, Stanger asked another called if she dated Jewish men. Cohen then asked her “What do Jewish men do” and she replied by saying “They lie.”
Viewers are calling for her firing. I can’t imagine these comments will do anything for her show since I know basically no one who watches it.
Stanger has offered an apology but not a very in-depth one. “So sorry — didn’t mean to offend anyone. Love you all,” she wrote on Twitter.
