Reality TV Week in Review

Family of Whitney Houston getting a reality show

Reality TV Week in Review

It was a week of finales and double eliminations in the Reality TV world, so let’s take a look back.

The Houston Family Chronicles: The late Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Christina and mom Cissy Houston, are going to start in a Lifetime reality TV show. The network has ordered 10 episodes of The Houston Family Chronicles.

“The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family,” Lifetime Executive Vice President of Programming Rob Sharenow said. “In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love and grow.”

Brit Finally Signs: It must be the new thing for pop princesses from the late 90s/early 2000s to become reality TV judges. There’s Xtina, Jessica and now Britney Spears. But Britney is the one who played the contract game the best. She signed her X Factor deal for $15 million, making her the highest paid of them all.

Xtina vs. Adam Levine: Speaking of pop princesses, The Voice’s Christina Aguilera spent this past season dissing former fellow Mouskateer and The Voice 2012 contestant Tony Lucca. There’s just something about him she doesn’t like. Did they date as teens? Did one reject the other? Did Tony like Brit more than Christina? Regardless of the reason, Adam, Tony’s coach, has put himself into the feud. Reports are flying that Adam and Christina no longer want to work together on the show. Xtina has apparently called for Adam’s firing and the Marron 5 star wants to re-record “Moves Like Jagger” without Christina’s voice.

Team Blake Shelton’s Jermaine Paul went on to win The Voice. So Christina has to be happy about that since even though it wasn’t her own by Chris Mann, at least it wasn’t Tony and Adam who won.

American Idol Top 3: There’s only two weeks of competition left on American Idol so it’s all down to the final three: Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez. Who has what it takes to win the Season 11 crown? Will the girls pick the cute one like they tend to do? Or will the first girl winner emerge after five seasons? Or maybe, just maybe, America will choose the one who can REALLY sing for the first time since about season 3.

Rachel and Dave Win The Amazing Race: The duo won the $1 million prize while Art and J.J. finished second. Brendon and Rachel finished third. At least Rachel got to beat Vanessa.

It’s So Easy To Say Goodbye: Who went home in reality TV this week?

  • Tarzan did not swing into the Survivor One World finale, which is set to air tomorrow night.
  • Hollie Cavanagh did not sing her way into the American Idol Top 3 this week.
  • Eboni was cut on America’s Next Top Model while Alicia volunteered to leave.
  • It was also a two-fer on Dancing with the Stars as Roshon  Fegen and Melissa Gilbert were sent packing.
  • Teresa Giudice and Lisa Lampanelli were both fired by Trump on The Celebrity Apprentice. Only one more firing until the final two are revealed.
  • Clara became the first person to be cut from the new Bravo show Around the World in 80 Plates.
