Survivor’s Rupert Boneham running for Indiana governor
Former Survivor contestant Rupert Boneham has thrown his hat in the ring for the Indiana governor’s race. The fan-favorite will seek the libertarian party’s nomination, according to The Indianapolis Star.
“Many people are aware of me through one small aspect of my life, which was my time on Survivor,” Boneham said in a press release. “I’ve come up from humble beginnings to own and operate several small businesses. I was then on this reality TV show that allowed me a platform to raise money for my charity, Rupert’s Kids. Through that work I’ve been blessed, and I’ve put almost everything back in to my community. I am looking forward to telling Hoosiers my entire story.”
Boneham first appeared on Survivor: Pearl Islands, placing 8th. He then returned for All-Stars, then Heroes vs. Villains where he finished in 4th and 6th. During All-Stars, however, he was awarded a fan-favorite award of $1 million.
