Top Chef Seattle: Jalapeno Business

Chefs makes dishes inspired by roller derby names

Top Chef Seattle: Jalapeno Business

This week on Top Chef Seattle, the chefs met some members of Seattle’s Rat City Rollergirls and were asked to make dishes inspired by their derby names: Jalapeno Business, Kutta Rump, Eddie Shredder, Tempura Tantrum and Teriyaki Terror. And since there are only five, the chefs have to split into teams.

Stealing the show this week, however, is returning vet Josie’s loud mouth, drunken attitude and an apparent accusation that fellow chef Micah is a closeted gay? Who knows what that was about, but during an altercation, Josie looked at Micah and said “This tree right here? You don’t want to bark up, Micah! This right here? Knows what she is. You are hiding in a closet!” So I guess she’s a tree and Micah is gay. *Shrugs*

It looked like Josie was getting an eliminated chef edit, but it looks like we’ll have to all be annoyed by her for at least another week. But I bet her days are numbered.

I agree with you Branden; I think Josie’s days are numbered. I’m sure Bravo kept her around because they need good television, but she is beyond annoying and I don’t think people will continue to watch if she is still on it. I was talking about this episode with my DISH co-worker and we were hoping they would show more of Seattle, but it seems to be an afterthought for the show. I’m going to keep watching this show but I’m going to miss next week’s episode. I’m setting my DISH Hopper to record it; last year I kept forgetting to set the weekly timer, but this time around I’m going I’m recording the full season. It is nice not having to remember every week to record it and since there is over 2,000 hours of entertainment room, I can record this show and some of my other favorite shows that air the same night.

Micah is gay, without a doubt. Josie might be annoying, but she’s right.
