Last week on The X Factor, 15-year-old hip-hop singer Astro lashed out at America after he surprisingly landed in the bottom 2 on the competition show.
His rankings were surprising since he’s among the judges’ favorites. But the real shocker was the contestants’ terrible attitude after learning he was at risk of going home. After phoning in his last-chance song (hoping for the judges to save him) he said “I don’t want to perform for people who don’t want me here.”
The audience even booed the kid. But Astro has issued an apology and an explanation for his attitude.
“What I do, I do for the love of Hip-Hop and my fans, and I would never do anything to hurt either,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “But please try to understand where my head was … I seriously apologize to my fans. What I said and my emotions weren’t directed toward you. I’m 15 and I think I know everything, but the truth is, I don’t, and I handled the situation wrong! Win or lose next week, I will make you all proud!”
